Meet our Brookswood Veterinary Team:

Dr. David E. Marlow

After graduating from the Royal College of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, Dr. Marlow emigrated to St. Johns, Newfoundland in the mid-1970s. There he became the president of the Newfoundland/ Labrador Veterinary Medical Association in 1978. In 1972, Dr. Marlow relocated to Langley, BC and purchased the Brookswood Veterinary Hospital. He also served on the Grievance and Ethics committee of the B.C Veterinary Medical Association for 10 years.

Dr. Marlow designed and built a brand new, larger, more efficient hospital in 2008, just south of the original building. In 2009, Dr. Marlow completed his studies and received his diploma in Veterinary Practice Management. Dr. Marlow is an avid golfer and for many years played cricket for the North Shore Cricket Club and captained the Vancouver over 40 versus over 50 Australia team.

However, his passion for animal care and customer service remains strong. He continues to enjoy working in a progressive, modern, well equipped hospital surrounded by a great high tone animal health care team.

Dr. Morgan Carey

Dr. Morgan Carey was born and raised on a small hobby farm in the Fraser Valley. After completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of the Fraser Valley, she went on to complete her training in veterinary medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. While in her final year of vet school, she completed a month-long exchange at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Dr. Carey is passionate about traveling and has visited over 25 countries in Europe and Central America, in addition to extensive travel across Canada and the U.S. Outside of the clinic Dr. Carey works alongside her husband helping pets and horses with their mobility and overall health, through their mobile animal chiropractic business. Dr. Carey also enjoys exploring the great outdoors by hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, kayaking and diving.

Dr. Jill Olsson

Dr. Jill Olsson attended the University of British Columbia before going to Louisiana State University School of Vet Medicine. She graduated in 2000 and joined the Brookswood Veterinary Hospital team in 2005. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but particularly enjoys working with fractious cats.

Outside of work, she does dog agility with her 2 dogs. She has 2 cats, one of which is very mischievous. She also loves reading, riding horses and spends most of her time driving her two daughters to their various activities.

Registered Animal Health Technician

Ann graduated from the AHTA Program at Fairview College in Alberta, in 1976. She started working at Brookswood Veterinary Hospital in 1977. Her interests in Veterinary Medicine are feline medicine and dentistry. Outside of work she loves to stay home and read books, all the while cuddling up with her 3 cats. Ann also has a daredevil streak and had no qualms about jumping out of an airplane with her son. A hissing, snarling kitty isn't quite so scary in comparison!

Registered Animal Health Technician

Aleta graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Douglas College in 2011. She has been part of the Brookswood Veterinary Team since January 2012. Her interests in Veterinary Medicine include Surgery, Dentistry and client education. Aleta lives with two cats who are constantly causing mischief - one of her cats is a 3 legged cat that she rescued. In her spare time she enjoys running, swimming, biking and reading, amongst many other hobbies and activities.

Animal Health Technician
Jayde started working at the Brookswood Veterinary Hospital in 2012. Prior to that, she worked at another animal hospital for 16 years where she gained experience in many areas of the practice. This includes reproductive services, orthopedics, technical duties, nursing care and reception. Her special interests in the veterinary field are animal dentistry, radiology and dog obedience and behavioral modification. Jayde also has two cats. On her own time, Jayde enjoys camping, biking and going to the beach with her husband and two toddlers.

Registered Animal Health Technician

Julia started working at the Brookswood Veterinary Hospital in May 2015. She enjoys being able to help pets and their owners and the rewarding feeling when seeing pets get reunited with their owners after being in our care. Outside of work she enjoys long walks on the beach with her dog, and taking her cats for a stroll in the park. She also enjoys hiking and quading.

Director of Public Relations / Receptionist / Veterinary Office Assistant

Hanna began volunteering for Brookswood Veterinary Hospital in February 2012 and was hired as a full-time receptionist in August 2012. Her favorite part about working here is working with a great team (and the friendships that have come along with it) and getting to meet all sorts of pets with different, unique personalities. She also does the marketing for the hospital - which she loves to do! When Hanna isn't working she enjoys doing art, baking and exploring outdoors.

Receptionist / Veterinary Office Assistant

Avalon graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program with honors, from Surrey Community College. She joined the Brookswood Veterinary team in July 2013. Avalon particularly enjoys working with and meeting all the different animals and their owners who come into our hospital. Outside of work you will find Avalon ATV-ing and camping. Avalon also plans to go back to school and become a Veterinary Technician.
