Meet our Brookswood Veterinary Team:

Dr. Morgan Carey

Dr. Morgan Carey was born and raised on a small hobby farm in the Fraser Valley. After completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of the Fraser Valley, she went on to complete her training in veterinary medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. While in her final year of vet school, she completed a month-long exchange at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Outside of work, Dr. Carey enjoys adventuring outdoors; Hiking, camping, kayaking and spending time with her husband, daughter and their three mischievous tabby cats!

Brookswood Veterinary Hospital has been locally owned for the past 40 years, and I look forward to keeping it that way for the next 40! One of my top values is family, and Brookswood Veterinary Hospital is just that, a family. The staff members have worked together for years, cultivating relationships with pets, their families and the community. Having a child of our own has made the value of family that much more meaningful.

Working with Dr. Marlow over the past few years has been knowledge enriching and inspiring. I can say with heartfelt gratitude that he has empowered me to be the veterinarian I am today. It is an honor that Dr. Marlow has given me this opportunity to carry on his legacy and work with his clients. I am proud to be the new owner of Brookswood Veterinary Hospital and look forward to building and fostering relationships with all of our amazing clients and friends for many years to come.” - Dr. Morgan Carey

Dr. Julia Lavor was born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, where she graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidade de Brasilia in 2013. She worked as an equine veterinarian for 4 years and then moved to Ireland for a leap year. She then had the opportunity to visit British Columbia, and instantly decided it was the place where she wanted to live, and very quickly Vancouver Island became her home. Last summer she moved to the Lower Mainland and joined the Brookswood Veterinary team as a technician. She has been living in Canada for over 4 years now and during this time worked as a veterinary technician in a few different small animal hospitals. In 2022 her journey to become a licensed veterinarian in North America began and we are excited to announce she has completed the requirements to work as a veterinarian under a temporary provisional license.

Her journey to get here was long, and Dr. Lavor could not be more excited to get this new adventure started. In her spare time, you will find Dr. Lavor exploring the great outdoors with her husband, Graydon and dog Ginger, or cuddling up on the couch with a cup of coffee and the company of her cat, Bacon.'
