Meet our Brookswood Veterinary Team:

Dr. Morgan Carey

We are excited to announce that as of December 2019, Dr. Morgan Carey is the new owner of Brookswood Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Morgan Carey was born and raised on a small hobby farm in the Fraser Valley. After completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of the Fraser Valley, she went on to complete her training in veterinary medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. While in her final year of vet school, she completed a month-long exchange at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Brookswood Veterinary Hospital has been locally owned for the past 40 years, and I look forward to keeping it that way for the next 40! One of my top values is family, and Brookswood Veterinary Hospital is just that, a family. The staff members have worked together for years, cultivating relationships with pets, their families and the community. My husband, Kevin, and I recently welcomed the birth of our daughter, Briella, making the value of family that much more meaningful.

Working with Dr. Marlow over the past few years has been knowledge enriching and inspiring. I can say with heartfelt gratitude that he has empowered me to be the veterinarian I am today. It is an honor that Dr. Marlow has given me this opportunity to carry on his legacy and work with his clients. I am proud to be the new owner of Brookswood Veterinary Hospital and look forward to building and fostering relationships with all of our amazing clients and friends for many years to come.” - Dr. Morgan Carey

Dr. David E. Marlow

As of December 2019, Dr. David Marlow has retired and sold Brookswood Veterinary Hospital to Dr. Morgan Carey.

“I have been extremely fortunate over my many years of practicing veterinary medicine at Brookswood Veterinary Hospital; I am now ready to pass the torch to my associate Dr. Morgan Carey. She has been practicing alongside me and is committed to carrying my legacy. Dr. Morgan has always stayed true to our clinic’s values, having an excellent client relationship with pets as well as their owners. I simply couldn’t think of a better person to carry on the practice I have built at Brookswood.

I am sad to say goodbye because of the relationships I have developed over the years. I have shared family experiences, watched children grow, laughed at great jokes, and even shared tears over the loss of special family members. My career has never been viewed as a job, but rather the sharing of a common passion for animals and their well-being. I will reflect on these memories forever, and I appreciate the opportunity we had to share them.

I am looking forward to redirecting my attention to new adventures in the New Year.” - Dr. David Marlow

Dr. Jill Olsson

Dr. Jill Olsson attended the University of British Columbia before going to Louisiana State University School of Vet Medicine. She graduated in 2000 and joined the Brookswood Veterinary Hospital team in 2005. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but particularly enjoys working with fractious cats.

Outside of work, she does dog agility with her 2 dogs. She has 2 cats, one of which is very mischievous. She also loves reading, riding horses and spends most of her time driving her two daughters to their various activities.

Registered  Veterinary Technologist

Ann graduated from the AHTA Program at Fairview College in Alberta, in 1976. She started working at Brookswood Veterinary Hospital in 1977. Her interests in Veterinary Medicine are feline medicine and dentistry. Outside of work she loves to stay home and read books, all the while cuddling up with her 3 cats. Ann also has a daredevil streak and had no qualms about jumping out of an airplane with her son. A hissing, snarling kitty isn't quite so scary in comparison!

This includes reproductive services, orthopedics, technical duties, nursing care and reception. Her special interests in the veterinary field are animal dentistry, radiology and dog obedience and behavioral modification. Jayde also has two cats. On her own time, Jayde enjoys camping, biking and going to the beach with her husband and two kids.

Registered Veterinary Technologist

Kyla joined the Brookswood Veterinary team in December 2010 as a high school volunteer. It was then she discovered her love for veterinary medicine. She graduated from the veterinary technology program at Douglas College in 2016. Outside of work you can find Kyla out on adventures with her husband Jeff and her cat Maizie.

Registered Veterinary Technologist

Julia started working at the Brookswood Veterinary Hospital in May 2015. She enjoys being able to help pets and their owners and the rewarding feeling when seeing pets get reunited with their owners after being in our care. Outside of work she enjoys long walks on the beach with her dog, and taking her cats for a stroll in the park. She also enjoys hiking and quading.

She would also like to go back to tech school so she can help even more animals!

Veterinary Office Assistant

Sam started with Brookswood as a veterinary assistant in 2012.
